Why this site exists
Most financial calculators are built by banks or product providers — which means the answer always ends with a sales pitch. RunYourNumbers is different. The calculators here do one thing: give you an honest number, so you can make your own decision.
South Africa has some genuinely tricky personal-finance questions — SARS tax brackets, the Two-Pot retirement system, bond registration costs, the real cost of a personal loan. We built tools that handle the actual rules, not simplified approximations, and we keep them free.
Who we are
RunYourNumbers is a product of ShellRick Tech Pty Ltd, a small South African software company. We build tools that solve real problems for real people — no venture capital, no "freemium" traps, no paywalled results.
The people behind it
RunYourNumbers is built by Freddy and Shelley Niekerk, the founders of ShellRick Tech. Freddy is a software developer — he built the calculators because he kept Googling the same financial questions and getting either vague blog posts or tools that wanted you to register before showing you anything useful.
We're not financial advisors. Nothing on this site is financial advice — these are tools to help you understand your own numbers. What you do with them is up to you.

How the site stays free
RunYourNumbers is ad-supported. We use Google AdSense to display advertisements, which means Google may show you ads based on your browsing history — but only if you've given consent via the cookie banner. If you decline, the ads don't load and the calculators work exactly the same. No paywalls, ever.
What we don't do
- Sell your data
- Require you to register to use any calculator
- Give financial advice or product recommendations
- Inflate results to make a product look good
